![]() The 4th Annual Pinkathon San Francisco is a free event taking place on Sat. October 21, 2017 at the SF Ferry Building in front of Gott’s Roadside. Participants of all abilities can show their support for breast cancer research by running or walking any distance between 5K and 50K! We selected BCRF as our charity because 91% of donations go directly to fund breast cancer research, which will hopefully lead to a cure. Our participants and volunteers are a very friendly, enthusiastic and diverse group of men, women, children and dogs, who gather for good company, good cheer and a great cause. Please join us! www.pinkathon.org |
![]() Lisa: Although breast cancer had a negative impact on quality of life, it also triggered positive changes in my life too. I have a stronger sense of spirituality, faith and a more hopeful view that increases pleasure in my life. Being a survivor puts me in a unique position to help others who are affected with breast cancer. It also gave me time to look at my life in new ways, improved my health and helped others, not just with breast cancer but other related diseases through difficult times. I live with pain every day of my life. Difficult to put on my bra or raise my arm over my head or lie on my chest. I was burned from radiation and radiation burn is debilitating. The symptoms are visible burns, and if I can raise the bar where no one else has to go through what I am going through, I will. Hosting the Pinkathon SF has been a healing experience all around. www.pinkathon.org |

![]() At the Pinkathon San Francisco, we often meet passersby who have also been affected by breast cancer. At the 2016 Pinkathon SF, we met this 50-year breast cancer survivor (center, now in her 80’s) who was visiting the city with her family. They just happened to be at the Ferry Building on the morning of our event. She told us she had been a model in New York before her diagnosis and before they really knew how to treat breast cancer effectively. There are few in her generation who survived their diagnosis, as opposed to today, when most of us can survive if the cancer is caught early enough. Please support the 2017 Pinkathon SF on Sat. 10/21/17 at the SF Ferry Building. Registration is FREE, but we expect all participants to make a donation directly to BCRF via our fundraising web page. www.pinkathon.org
